pdfFiller’s Terms of Service say you can end your subscription at any time by cancelling in your account settings, or by contacting support and getting written confirmation that they received your request. The terms also say fees are generally non-refundable “except as otherwise agreed”, so a refund is a request, not a guarantee.
Cancel
- Log in and open your account settings. Look for the subscription or billing section and cancel there.
- No cancel option, or not sure it worked? Contact pdfFiller support and ask them to cancel. Under the terms, cancelling through support counts once you receive written confirmation of your request. Keep that email.
- Check your next statement. The agreement renews automatically each period until cancelled.
What the terms say about charges
From pdfFiller’s Terms of Service:
- Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period as the original.
- They may test your card with a small charge, which is refunded within 10 business days.
- Fees are non-refundable, “even if you are not using the Services”, except as otherwise agreed by the provider. The terms say it “may offer a refund policy”, so ask.
Ask for a refund anyway
It is still worth asking promptly and clearly. Send support:
- Your account email
- The date and amount of each charge
- Your cancellation confirmation
- A short reason (for example: “I signed up to download one form and didn’t intend to subscribe”)
- A clear request for a refund to your original payment method
If they say no
- Credit card: you can dispute the charge with your card issuer. The CFPB says to send a written billing error notice within 60 days after the charge appeared on your statement. (CFPB guidance)
- Debit card or PayPal: ask your bank or PayPal about their dispute process.
- Report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or your state attorney general.
